Peer Education

The Peer Education program at Planned Parenthood is designed so that teenagers are able to provide their friends and peers with correct information about healthy relationships. Having many friends in the program already and being passionate about helping people I decided to apply. After getting accepted I attended the 40 hour training that takes place at Planned Parenthood. It ended in March and so most of my experience as a full Peer Educator has been attending meetings and tabling at school, but I have had the opportunity to apply my knowledge to situations with my friends. We also had one of the writers for the Vermont Youth Risk Behavior Survey come in and talk to us about the process. We also had the opportunity to give her feedback about what we thought about the survey.
